Women's Integrated Action and Advocacy

This team works on issues related to human rights, women and family health, social issues, women's rights (CEDAW), domestic violence, adultery and neglected families.

The team has a detailed plan for the first 2 quarters of 2015, including:

  • Team training in preparation for ‘Life Clock’ and Child Protection workshops
  • Support Hako women candidates in Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) elections
  • Preparation of Resource Centre and Meri Seif Haus
  • Opening of Resource Centre – drama and music presentations
  • Organise Hako Women’s Fellowships, KWAs, CSOs to attend RC library and associated activities - awareness  program of RCservices, inc playing DVDs, run Life Clock workshops
  • Awareness Program: workshops on Gender equity, women’s empowerment, peace & security; Lukautim pikinini Act, women’s participation in politics, gender issues & elections, mental health & disability, Bougainville Peace Agreement
  • planning for ongoing projects
  • HWC Mentoring session - older and younger women

  • Capacity building for women and youth
  • Supporting the sub health centre and hospital
  • HIV/AIDS awareness
  • Medical treatment and support for victims of rape, incest, drug and alcohol abuse
  • Addressing theft, law and justice issues
  • Human rights education
  • Family and parenting support training
  • Adult literacy
  • Resource and information provision for the community.
