The HWC Media Unit has trained many Hako youth in various aspects of media production. Many have been able to use these skills to obtain full time employment, so new teams are being developed. The Media Unit supports the work of other times by producing films and other media, including those used in school outreach programs on environmental issues.

- training in use of digital equipment and software, provided by Pacific Black Box
- coverage of the HWC Resource Centre opening, HWC events for World Environment Day
- presentations at Hako schools
- preparing equipment and presentation for HWC AGM
